Armory House Properties’ dining services
cater to you! AHP provides flexible meals plans
(choice of 10, 14, or 19 meals per week) with the
needs of busy students in mind. We offer flexible cafeteria
hours with the options of requesting a “sack lunch” or
“late
plate dinner” for students who are not able to make it to
the cafeteria during normal hours. AHP also offers “to-go
containers” for times when students would like to eat
outside the cafeteria.
AHP residents may also choose to eat at
Hendrick House. Our cooperative agreement
with Hendrick House provides
a convenient alternative for students who have classes on the
north side of campus or would like a change of scenery!
All residents, including residents of the
apartments and annexes, are eligible for a meal plan at AHP.
We offer a variety of plans suited to meet the differing
needs of all students.

The
cafeteria is small compared to most dorms, which I think is
great because it’s easier to really get to meet people.
Also, with the regular and vegetarian choices along with a
salad and sandwich bar it’s easy to eat healthier than the
other dorms (avoiding the classic freshman 15). |

Our friendly and accommodating dining
staff works hard to serve all your needs. They offer a
variety of healthy, tasty meals. In addition to the main
entrées and sides, AHP dining features a salad bar, deli
bar, fresh fruit, various breakfast items, freshly cooked
desserts, an assortment of beverages, grilled-to-order
sandwiches, and our Creation Station, which allows residents
to create their own unique grilled entrée. |

Hello, my name is Jason Pokorny and I grew up in
Algonquin, IL. I attended the Culinary Arts School
at Elgin Community College and am currently living
in Tolono, IL. I have worked at several local
restaurants including three years at Montgomery’s on
the Square in Monticello, IL as “chef de cuisine.”
I like to watch or play sports in my free time, and
my favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. I also enjoy
listening to music and watching movies.
I bring my own culinary spin to my food, but I am
very open and willing to listen to any suggestions.
My door is always open! I look forward to serving
you here at Armory House. |

Hi everyone, just a little about myself: I'm originally
from the island of Sicily (Italy). I have been cooking for
this community for over 34 years. I'm delighted to be here
at Armory House and I really enjoy being around young adults
and the college environment. I have two boys, our oldest is
a U of I graduate with a Masters Degree from NYU. Our younger son
graduated from Parkland College and is currently taking time
off from Rosen College (UCF) in Orlando. In the meantime he
is working at Disney and Sea World in Orlando and having way
too much fun!
I love, peaceful summer evenings in my back yard with my
husband sipping on iced espresso, beaches and gardening. |
