Finding the right balance between social life and academic commitments can be a challenge…but Armory House Properties helps make the academic transition back to school smooth. 

We proudly offer Academic and Career programs in which we invite U. of I. staff to Armory House for meet with our residents in a convenient, small group setting. 

Programs include:

-“How to Choose a Major” presented by the Assistant Provost who directs the Division of  General Studies

-Resume Writing Workshop – presented by Career Center staff

-Study Abroad options – Q/A with Study Abroad staff

-Leadership Training options – presented by Illinois Leadership Center

-Study Groups - Tutoring Programs – Quiet Evening Study Hall

We offer study time each evening by turning our large cafeteria into a study center and offering comfortable lounge areas to all residents.  Quiet noise levels are enforced beginning each weeknight at 10:00pm and midnight on the weekends, to ensure that students are able to effectively study and get a good night’s sleep.

AHP also provides special snacks and drinks during stressful midterm and finals weeks to show appreciation for our residents and wish them luck on upcoming exams.

By living and interacting with diverse types of people, education is taken beyond the classroom at AHP. In the AHP community, most of the residents were facing the same challenges as myself: new teachers, new classes, new subjects, and new adjustments.  

Many of these people have become my friends and have supported me in times of need. Living at Armory House has made me feel like part of the campus community.
