Residents view
Armory House Properties as more than a place to stay…it is a
lifestyle! The close-knit community and lasting friendships at AHP contribute to our welcoming and sociable
reputation. Here at Armory House, we try to give
residents a balance between academic success and social
programs.
Beginning with move-in-day, our
Resident Advisors and staff plan fun activities for students
to enjoy and to get to know each other from the start.
Social
activities are a great way to have fun as well as get
connected with other residents. Movie Nights, Game
Nights, Ice Skating, Cookouts, and Sand Volleyball are just
a few examples of activities that students can participate
in frequently throughout the year. In addition, major social events like the Fall Barn Dance are not to
be missed!
Intramural
sports such as flag football, basketball, co-ed soccer, and
volleyball are popular activities with AHP residents.
Students also enjoy getting together to go bowling, skating,
or to play broomball. Students also like to take advantage
of the park located outside Armory House to play bags,
Frisbee, or wiffle ball!
World
Cultures activities: Armory House is a place where students
can broaden their
horizons as they experience other cultures. Residents can
get to know residents from other parts of the world, and
participate in activities that celebrate cultural
diversity. Examples of activities include Study Abroad
Info Sessions or Food Tastings. Recently, residents were
able to experience a "Taste of Thailand."
Community and
us is a program where AHP supports participation in
volunteer opportunities through our program “Together We
Can.” AHP staff and residents join together to help
the surrounding area. Many of our residents enjoy teaming up to work
on projects for non-profit groups in the community.
One of our major projects includes raising money and
gathering donations for the Cunningham Children's home to
show that small change can make a big difference! |
